Featured in this lot is this rare C.S. Fly Cabinet Card of Ben Goodrich granddaughter; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This cabinet card features a portrait photograph of the granddaughter of Ben Goodrich, a prominent lawyer and politician in Tombstone and is also part of the team of prosecutors mobilized against the Earp party for the shooting of the O.K. Corral. Her name is Mary Goodrich Read and she was 5 months old when this photograph was taken. The cabinet card has markings on the front that reads as follows: Fly's Gallery - Tombstone, A.T. The cabinet card comes with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Ben Goodrich's granddaughter, Mary Goodrich Read at age 5 months - Ben Goodrich was a prominent Tombstone Lawyer. The Clantons paid him $10,000.00 to represent them and to charge the Earps with murder. In 1880, Mr. Goodrich moved to Arizona and there began a career which placed him, in time, among the leaders of his profession and made him one of the most important men in public life. He practiced at Tucson for a year, but moved to Tombstone when Pima County was divided and Cochise County formed from part of it. He began practice at once, in partnership with Honorable Marcus A. Smith, eight times Territorial Delegate to Congress from Arizona and later United States Senator from Arizona. Within a short time Mr. Goodrich was one of the active factors in the politics of Tombstone and Cochise County. The condition of this C.S. Fly cabinet card is well preserved with so obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this cabinet card is 6 1/2" x 4 1/4". P-47
