For your consideration in this lot we have a wonderful rare Charlie M. Russell bronze sculpture titled 'Bronco Twister'. Charles Marion Russell (March 19, 1864 – October 24, 1926), also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an artist of the Old American West. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States and in Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. Known as 'the cowboy artist', Russell was also a storyteller and author. This bronze depicts a bronco as it tries to unseat his rider. The bronze shows excellent detail across the piece with wonderful craftsmanship. The sculpture is set onto a marble base with a brass plaque reading "Bronco Twister By C.M. Russell" and the bronze is signed by Russell across the back. The bronze is in very good condition. It measures approximately 15 1/2" long by 11" wide and 24" tall. The bronze is shown on a marble plaque, the exact age is unknown.
