Offered in this lot is a Rare Antique George III Mahogany Butler's Tray and Stand, circa 1780 with Rare Brass Hinged Drop-Down serpentine carved sides. The Georgian era, marked by the reign of King George III from 1760 to 1820, left an indelible mark on the world of furniture and design. George III antiques, characterized by their refined craftsmanship and Neoclassical influences, showcase the sophistication of the late 18th century. This exceptional antique English mahogany butler's tray on stand, has an oval/ rectangular dovetailed constructed tray with brass mounted hinge corners and openwork carved handles, all four sides drop down flat. Felt was added to the bottom to not scratch the surface it is placed on. The original wood slat design folding stand features slat stretchers as well. Tray and stand are in very nicely preserved condition, normal wear from use and age. Tray measures 35"W x 39.25"L x extended, 22.5"W x 27.5"L x 6"H folded. Stand is 25.25"W x 20"D x 26.75"H open, 20"W x 3.5"D x 34.75"H folded. It weights 18 pounds.
