Featured in this lot we have a rare Page-Lewis & Co Model A single shot target rifle chambered in .22 LR. This rifle comes from the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This rifle was manufactured by Page-Lewis Arms Company in the 1920's. The company was founded by Mr. Page and Mr. Lewis in 1920 using their combined firearm manufacturing knowledge from their time working for Stevens and operated the company from 1920-1928 when they where bought by Savage Arms. They produced four primary models of rifle over the short period of operation consisting of the model A Target rifle, Model B Sharpshooter, Model C Olympic, and the Model D Bolt action rifle. This rare firearm displays a 20" long round barrel, walnut stock, rolling block design, and single action hammer. The barrel is marked across the top reading "PAGE-LEWIS ARMS COMPANY CHICOPEE FALLS. MASS. U.S.A. 22 LR" with a stamp on the left side of the barrel. The frame is marked "MODEL A TARGET" on the left with the right reading "PAT'D APR. 25. 1923". The rifle shows good mechanical condition with a smooth lever falling block action and working hammer system. The barrel and receiver show a warm patina with the barrel displaying remnants of blue'd finish. The rifle is in good overall condition with minor wear and handling marks due to use and age.
