Presented in this lot is a Rare "Portfolio Of Six Western Prints" by Frederic Remington, ca. 1961, US Department of the Interior publisher. These prints were most likely published to honour the 100th anniversary of Remington's death. These unframed reproduced coloured prints of western scenes by Frederic Remington include: "A Pull At The Canteen", "Bronco Busters Saddling", "The Charge On The Sun-Pole", "Dismounted - The Fourth Troopers Moving The Led Horses", "An Episode In The Opening Up Of A Cattle Country", and, "Thanksgiving Dinner For The Ranch". Frederic Sackrider Remington (1861-1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in the genre of Western American Art. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, American Indians, and the US Cavalry. The plates are in nice condition, slight age tanning, burnt sierra colour borders. Textured sepia-coloured portfolio folder is nice condition, marked "No. P 418" on inside flap. Plates each measure 8.5"W x 11"L, folder is 8.5"W x 11"L.
