For your consideration in this lot is a sterling silver Reed & Barton bowl. The bowl has a leaf pattern around the sides. The bowl is marked on the back with a circle/star which dates it as 1946 and the eagle and lion on each side of the R-sheild Reed & Barton hallmark as well as stamped sterling. The last stamp of X405 is believed to be a style number. Reed & Barton was a prominent American silversmith manufacturer based in the city of Taunton, Massachusetts, operating between 1824 and 2015. During the American Civil War, Reed & Barton produced a considerable quantity of weapons for Union Army soldiers and officers. Reed & Barton was chosen to design and produce the official gold, silver, and bronze medals for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The company's products are used at the White House in Washington, D.C. The bowl measures 6" across and is 1 1/8" deep. The bowl weighs 163.6 grams. This bowl is in good condition.
