Featured in this lot we have a Remington Arms Type II O/U Derringer pistol chambered in the .41 rimfire caliber. This Remington 1866 Derringer Type II was manufactured between 1888-1911 by Remington. The Remington 1866 was later given a model designation in the early 1920's and were later designated as Model 95's. The Remington Double Derringer was one of the most iconic pocket hide-out weapons in American history, the Remington Double Derringer was chambered for the short .41 Rim Fire. This pistol displays two 3" barrels, compact frame, spur trigger, and hard rubber grips. The barrels were locked in place for firing by a rotating lever on the right side of the frame. The firing pin alternated from top barrel t bottom barrel automatically. The barrel is marked across the top rib reading "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y.". The pistol shows good condition overall for its age with functional mechanics. The derringer weighs 10oz. Serial Number: 222.
