Included in this lot is an original lithograph of the Frederic Remington oil painting, "Crow Indians Firing Guns Into The Agency". Frederic Sackrider Remington was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in depictions of the American Old West. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, American Indians, and the US Cavalry. Per the provenance attached on the backside, "...this original Remington print was pulled from a wood block, hand-carved in 1887. This print is termed a "restrike" because it was pulled after considerable time elapsed between the first printing (1887) and this printing (1973). It is nevertheless generally acknowledged to be an original work of art, because it was pulled from the original block employed in the first edition..."
