Featured in this lot we have a Richardson & Overman Gallager saddle ring percussion cap carbine chambered in .50 caliber. The rifle was manufactured by Richardson and Hanks and was patented in 1860. The rifle features a 22 1/4" long round barrel, walnut stock, percussion cap hammer system, stock storage, and breech loading action. The barrel shows a blue'd finish with the frame displaying a casehardened finish. The lock plate is marked with "GALLAGER PATENTED JULY 17TH 1860" with "12" stamped below. Mechanically the rifle shows good condition with a snappy hammer and working trigger with a smooth action. The walnut stock shows a metal butt plate and stock storage door. The rifle shows good condition overall with some wear and a crack in the stock. No Serial Number. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
