Featured in this lot is this bronze called "Little Rascals," by Idaho artist Robert Deurloo. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that shows a felt underside. The sculpture features two otters one crouched in front of the other with its hand on the first otters back. The bronze is marked R. Deurloo with a copyright symbol and is numbered 175/1000 on the backside on the bottom of the bronze. Robert Deurloo is a professional sculptor who creates exquisite bronze wildlife sculptures, which due to an exotic patina process appear to be of polished stone. His sculptures are cast from molten bronze, but due to an elaborate and exotic patina process, they appear to be chiseled from the granite of the Sawtooth Mountains. A combination of intense heat and various acids and minerals produce the polished stone patinas. A self-taught artist, his style blossoms from within, rather than forged by external teachings. He has learned over his 25 year career that capturing every detail in a sculpture can actually detract from the impact of the piece. The condition of this pair of otter bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this this bronze is 5 1/8" x 4 5/8" x 3 1/2".
