The lot includes an orignal Kewa Santo Domingo pottery painted olla bowl from renowned artist Robert Tenorio. Robert Tenorio was born in 1950 into the Santo Domingo "Kewa" Pueblo and has been working with clay since the age of 10. He is considered one of the foremost pueblo potters, regularlly winning ribbons at Santa Fe Indian Market and other prestigious competitions. He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. This piece shows a pottery bowl with black geometric pattern on the outside and top edge with glazed inside lining showing a crazed finish. The top edge has two slits nealry exactly oposite of each other which look like cracks but could be intentional. The bottom has a firing crack which is solid. The bottom is signed "Santo Domingo Tenorio" and etching into the clay "Tenorio". Measures 7" diameter by 2.75"H.
