For your consideration is this impressively large Rococo style modern French mantel clock. The bronze clock sits on pedestal style feet on a fitted, polished granite-like base with its own brass feet. The clock is decorated with rocaille openwork featruring trailing acanthus branches and seated putti. The waist mounted cylindrical skeleton clock features brass gears with serpentine hands pointing to painted enamel Roman numerals. In the lower center is a smaller dial with Arabic numerals with a second hand. The back of the clock opens to reveal battery powered movement. Text on the movement reads, "No (0) Jewels/ Patent Pending/ Made in China." There are no other identifying markings on the clock except a 12 digit lot number on the base. The clock is in excellent aesthetic and working condition. The base measures 23" x 11" with the clock standing 26.5" tall. The clock face measures about 5.5" in diameter.
