In this lot is a Metal Rygate Montana sign. The sign has the outline of Montana with a prospector man and his donkey saying "Howdy Pardner!” Ryegate is a very small town in Golden Valley County, located in the center of Montana, with a population of 245 and a total of 0.69 square miles of land. There is little doubt that this sign was made and sold during the "famous" Testicle Festival in Ryegate, Montana. “Is there such a thing as being famous for not being famous? If there were, it would be the Testicle Festival in Rygate, Montana." Greg Keeler wrote a song about the town that drew celebrities, like William Hjortsberg, Tom Mc Guane, and others. The sign is painted black, white, red, yellow, and green. The sign, like the town, is in used, fair condition, but still sturdy. The sign measures 14" X 5 1/2".
