Featured in this lot is a rare cast iron S.C.W.W. Co. Triumph Tobacco Cutter used around the mid-late 1800s in St. Louis, Missouri . "S.C.W.W. CO." is cast in both arch frame sides with the word "TRIUMPH" across the base handle. The wide portion of the base by the cutter blade has "1 INCH" and "2 INCH" graduations cast into the base. The cutter also bears three (3) four digit codes throughout, the first being on the bottom reading "2494", the second on the handle reading "2500" and the last reading "2498" on top metal ring that protrudes above the round cutter frame. This tobacco cutter was manufactured by "The Griswold Manufacturing Company" in Erie, Pennsylvania and was one of two models the company manufactured. The cutter is in good condition with all moving parts working well with ease. The black finish has been chipped in multiple places with slight rusting in other spots, but over all good condition for its vintage age. The measurments of this piece are 18 1/2" L x 4 1/2" W x 7" H.
