Featured in this lot is this Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico multicolor medallion banded rugs circa 1940-50's. There are two rugs in this pair with banded design throughout colored with a multitude of colors including: purple, yellow, light green, green, pink, purple, orange, dark brown, light blue, red, and a bright pink set to a off white ends with a woven fringe. Both rugs feature medallions in the center that shows beige outer stepped border with stepped segments of triangular shapes that are banded with color. Serapes from this region exude vibrant coloration and show geometric diamon medallions in the center with iconic basket woven fringe to both ends. The condition of this pair of Mexican Saltillo's is preserved with some wear to the weave with small holes throughout and discoloration to the color but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of each of these rugs is 37" x 15 1/4" and 49" x 17 3/4" both length measurements includes the fringe.
