For your consideration is this beautiful Santa Clara pot made by renowned Santa Clara potter, Minnie Vigil (1931-2024). Minnie Vigil, born Maria D. Vigil in 1931, was a renowned potter from Santa Clara Pueblo with Pojoaque ancestry. She began her pottery career in 1955 and was recognized in 1975 with her first award at the Santa Fe Indian Market. Minnie specialized in polychrome ceramics, using several clay slips to generate a variety of hues. Minnie came from a family of outstanding potters, which included her sisters Gloria Goldenrod Garcia, Thelma Talachy, and Lois Gutierrez de la Cruz. She passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 92. The piece shows colors of teal and red / brown with geometric shapes encompassing the entire piece. It is signed on the bottom in black reading, "Minnie". The piece shows good condition overall with slight wear present but no major signs of damage noted. It measures 2 7/8" L x 2 7/8" W x 3" H and weighs 128 grams (4.5 ounces).*
