Featured in this lot is this black on black pottery from Santa Clara Pueblo from Isabel and Florence Naranjo. There are two olla's in this collection. The first is a carved black on black with carved geometric patterns and iconic black on black coloration and is marked on the bottom as follows: Isabel Naranjo - Santa Clara - Espanola, N.M. Isabel Naranjo was a prominent potter from Santa Clara Pueblo, known for her exceptional work in traditional Pueblo pottery. She was part of the esteemed Naranjo family, which has produced several renowned potters. Isabel's contributions to Native American pottery have been significant in preserving and advancing the art form within her community. The second is a black on black olla that shows textured decoration and is marked on the underside of the olla as follows: Florence Naranjo - San Ildefonso. Florence Naranjo is another respected potter from Santa Clara Pueblo, known for her contributions to traditional Native American pottery. She comes from the Naranjo family, which is renowned for its long lineage of accomplished potters. The condition of this of this pair of Santa Clara Pueblo pottery olla's is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pair of pottery vessels is 2 1/4" x 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" and 2 3/4" x 3 1/8" x 3 1/8". The collective weight of this pair of pottery olla's is 12oz.
