Featured in this lot is this applique scalloped gauntlets from the Santee Sioux, circa 1930's. These gauntlets show wonderfully crafted Indian tanned hide construction with floral calico trade cloth lining and a whimsical floral applique pattern embroidered on the tops of the gauntlets. The gauntlets are accented with scalloped cuffs and the fringe lining the outsides of the gauntlets is scalloped. The condition of these gauntlets is good and well preserved, with patina consistent with the age of the gauntlets and no damage to the applique. The measurements of these gauntlets are 12 1/2" x 10".
