Featured in this lot is this oil painting of horses feeding by Montana artist Gary Schildt, who was born in 1938. The artwork shows three horses eating from a bale of hay. The artist’s signature can been seen in the bottom left hand corner of the painting. Impressionist painter and sculptor of Western figures, particularly Indians and children, Gary Schildt was born in Helena, Montana, in 1938. As a Blackfeet descendant, Gary grew up on his family's ranch on the Reservation near Browning. The condition of this framed oil painting is good, with some wear to the frame. The measurements of this framed oil ainting are 16 1/8" x 18 1/8" and the visible art measures 7 5/8" x 9 1/2".
