For your consideration are Schlitz Brewing and Stulz Bros. Beer and Beverage Bottles from Tombstone, circa 1893 to 1918. Provenance: Tombstone Western Heritage Museum, Tombstone, Arizona. Included are two Schlitz Longneck Beer Bottles, circa 1894, and a Stulz Bros. Beverage Bottle, circa 1893 to 1918. Tombstone, during the territorial period and into the early statehood pre-prohibition years, had a number of historically significant saloons including the Oriental Saloon, Big Nose Kate's Saloon, and the Crystal Palace Saloon. These establishments, especially the Oriental, are linked to significant events in Tombstone's history, including gunfights and the town's boom years. Famous lawman Wyatt Earp sought to get rich by investing in mining or opening businesses in town. A few months after the Oriental Saloon opened, Earp gained control of the lucrative gambling tables and kept a lid on the violence that had made the Oriental scandalous to so many residents of the booming silver camp. Included are two Schlitz Longneck Bottles, circa 1894. One bottle is a amethyst glass colour while the other is an aqua green colour; both bottles are "mouth blown" or "handmade"; the Stulz Bros. bottle appears to be dip-moulded. The Schlitz bottles each feature two gold-ish brown colour paper labels on the front face which read, "Bottled at the Schlitz Brewery", "Export Schlitz SCHLITZ the Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous". The Stulz Bros. polychrome bottle paper label reads, "Sweet Angela Stulz Bros." Schlitz bottle labels have some tears, Stulz label is mostly intact with fading and edge tears. Schlitz bottles measure 12"H, Stulz is 11"H, combined weight is 4lb, 6oz.
