Featured in this lot are two, identical, original and signed photos of renowned dancer & choreographer Frankie Manning (1914-2009) in action in the movie "Hellzapoppin". Frank Manning was an American dancer, instructor, and choreographer. Manning is considered one of the founders of Lindy Hop, an energetic form of the jazz dance style known as swing. He was a member of "Whitey's Lindy Hoppers," a well-known performing group that traveled the world and popularized the dance. The Lindy Hop performance style first appears in 1941's "Hellzapoppin'". The two photos are identical and show Frankie Manning in action with his dance partner. The first is signed reading, "To Jeff, Thanks a lot for the picture and you keep dancing. Frankie Manning", while the second signature reads, "Frankie Manning". They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage is noted.
