The lot features a fantastic miniature hide and fully beaded strike-a-lite bag from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians dating to the early 1900’s. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide with wonderful rich red ocher mineral pigment dyed finish showing long thin hand cut fringe at the base and braided long top strap. The top and back show excellent period correct early glass trade seed cen beads in showing a long top flap with three “U” shape horseshoe like symbols in red white hearts with a greasy yellow background and greasy blue fancy edge. The bag front structure shows a Cheyenne pink background with outer border of chalk white and light blue with a fancy black edge and the back shows a three-sided square symbol figure in chalk white with red white heart bottom. The piece is sewn with all sinew and is in very good condition for its early age. Overall the bag structure measures 2.75”x2 3/8” without fringe and with fringe and top strap is 15”L.
