This is an excellent Sioux Native American Indian fully beaded cane walking stick from circa 19th Century. The cane shows the typical traditional geometric beadwork pattern covering the entire surface with all glass trade seed beads of the correct period in greasy yellow, sky padre blue, chalk white, semi-transparent red, and semi-transparent green. The cane shows a wood construction with Tourist curved handle and a UMC 45-70 brass cartridge end. The piece is sewn over trade clothe with trade cotton. Overall the piece has an incredible intricate geometric design but does have much bead loss as shown. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert.
