The lot features an Indian tanned hide over parfleche rawhide, large sheath adorned with beadwork, attributed to the Dakota Sioux Native American Indians and paired with a vintage large kitchen knife. The sheath has a parfleche rawhide hard shell covered in Indian tanned hide sinew sewn over both sides with an Indian tanned buckskin hand cut fringe along one border. The front is covered in a traditional geometric beadwork pattern in glass trade seed beads. The beadwork shows colors of light blue, red white heart, greasy yellow, cobalt, chalk white, and a maroon with symbols of hour glasses, tipi, horse or buffalo bison tracks. The sheath has a belt tie strap at the top of the same buckskin. The knife is a vintage, older kitchen knife with large chef's 8" long blade, a hidden tang handle with metal bolsters, and solid wood one piece grip, likely oak with a carved hole. The beadwork is in good condition and overall well preserved, with little to no bead loss. The sheath measures 28"L with tie strap and fringe by 8"W. The beaded area itself is 12" x 4". The knife overall is 13"L.
