For your consideration is this Sioux Indian hair pipe bone and abalone-shell button choker, circa 1950's. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide strung construction with Buffalo parfleche rawhide gaskets sectioning off five groupings of hair pipe bone beads with unique wound brass beads sandwiching the gasket. The choker is decorated in its center with a circular abalone shell and a brass bead, hair pipe bone tubular beads, and cowrie shell decorated pendant. The condition of this choker is good with no obvious signs of damage; the piece does show wear consistent with age. The measurements of this hair pipe bone and abalone choker are 29" x 3 1/2".
