Featured in this lot is this beautiful, Native American painted and hand tooled buffalo rawhide ledger art set in a wood frame in a shadow box style from Native American Sioux artist C.G. Hunt. This piece of art shows a Buffalo rawhide square that has been hand tooled and hand painted with various Native American shapes and motifs in a ledger art style. It shows a ledger art plains scene of three horse effigies running through the valley. A thunderbird can be seen in the top right hand corner and a turtle can be seen on the left hand side behind the horses. The sky is painted a nice blue color and the horses feature pastel colors. The bottom left shows a circular geometric design and features four deer dewclaws connected by rawhide strips, adorned with trade beads. The piece is signed at the bottom reading, "C.G. Hunt" and is set in a shadowbox style setting. It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. The visible art measures 22" L x 17 7/8" W, while the entire piece measures 30 1/8" L x 25 5/8" W x 1 1/2" D. It has a total weight of 8 pounds and 12 ounces.
