Featured in this lot is this Sioux polychrome painted buffalo hide, circa 20th century. The hide shows fantastic Sioux Pin-Wheel decoration with black, red, and white Pin-Wheel design and a lovely example of tanning to the polychrome decorated side of the hide. The hide also shows soft fur on the other side of the hide and the artist’s signature, ‘Bearclaw', with a bear paw print next to it. The hide is decorated in the middle by two taxidermy tanned white minks and a polychrome porcupine quill wrapped wooden medallion. The condition of this buffalo hide is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this polychrome buffalo hide are 78 1/2" x 97".
