This revolver was manufactured between 1915-1942 by Smith & Wesson for military or police use. The revolver displays a 4" long round barrel, six shot cylinder, checkered wood grips, double action trigger, and nickel plated finish. The barrel is marked across the left side reading "SMITH & WESSON", "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER. 8. 1901. DEC. 17. 1901. FEB. 8. 1906. SEPT. 14. 1908. DEC. 29. 1914" across the top with the right side reading ""38 S. & W. SPECIAL CTG". The wooden grips display carved checkered patterns and a brass Smith & Wesson medallion on the top of the grips. Mechanically the revolver shows a tight trigger and good timing on the cylinder. The revolver shows good condition overall with wear across the finish. The revolver weighs 1lbs 12oz.
