Featured in this lot we have a Smith & Wesson double action military and police revolver chambered in .38 special. This revolver was manufactured between 1915-1942 by Smith & Wesson for military or police use. The revolver displays a 4" long round barrel, six shot cylinder, hard rubber grips, double action trigger, and worn blue'd finish. The barrel is marked across the left side reading "38 S. & W. SPECIAL U.S. SERVICE", "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS U.S.A." with the patent dates. The hard rubber grips display carved checkered patterns and show a Smith & Wesson medallion on the top of the grips. Mechanically the revolver shows a tight trigger and good timing on the cylinder. The revolver shows good condition overall with wear across the finish. The revolver weighs 1lbs 12oz. Serial Number: 2051.
