Featured in this lot we have a Smith & Wesson fourth model safety hammerless revolver chambered in .38 S&W and manufactured in the early 1900's. The revolver displays a 6" long, five shot barrel, hard rubber grips, top break, hammerless design, and double trigger. The piece shows a grip style safety on the back tang of the grip. The barrel is marked across the left side of the barrel reading "38 S. & W. CTG" with the top rib marked "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.PAT'D OCT 2. 1883. AUG 4. 188~ APRIL ~. 1889". Mechanically the revolver shows fair condition with a good trigger and some friction on the top break action. The grips are marked with the S W medallions across the top and show clear checkered patterns. Overall the revolver shows good condition with much of the finish intact and clear with pitting and wear across some of the exterior due to handling and age. The revolver weighs 1lbs 4oz.
