Offered in this lot we have a framed Sioux and Umatillo ornamental blanket ledger art from 1916. The top ledger shows a Sioux blue pattern blanket with a white an teal stripe going along the piece. The bottom ledger shows a Umatillo primarily red blanket also with a white and teal patterned stripe across the length of the blanket. Both of the designs show hand written notes and titles. The ledgers are held in a dark wood frame with purple felt backing. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The piece is in good condition overall. It measures 23" wide by 29" tall.
