Featured in this lot is this leadwood warthog carving from South African artist Lucky Nkala. The artist shows fantastic texture and hand carved design to this species indigenous to Africa. The common warthog is a wild member of the pig family found in grassland, savanna, and woodland in sub-Saharan Africa. The warthog features authentic warthog tusk embedded into the face of the warthog with wonderful examples of the harvest tusk. The artist signature can be seen on the left side of the sculpture by the front right leg. The condition of this carved warthog is good with signs of natural horizontal fissure but no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this warthog carving are 18" x 28" x 16".
