Featured in this lot is this South African San Bushman quiver and arrows, circa early to mid-1900's. There are ten arrows in this collection, with a hollowed out branch for the construction of the quiver wrapped in sinew and Parfleche caps. The arrowheads featured on these arrows consist of iron tips and three bone tipped arrows. The San peoples are members of various Khoe, Tuu, or Kx'a-speaking indigenous hunter-gatherer groups that are the first nations of Southern Africa, and whose territories span Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and South Africa. The condition of these arrows and the quiver is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this quiver are 24" x 1 1/2" x 2" and the arrows have average measurements of 23 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4".
