Featured in this is lot is this rare, third edition book, "Souvenir and Views of Union Pacific, ‘The Overland Route’, The World’s Pictorial Line”. The book was copyrighted in 1900 by E. L. Lomax, the general passenger and ticket agent of the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska. The title on the book cover is in gold gilt and red lettering. The book has 30 color plates, illustrations one would see while riding the train on this route. The map on the rear cover has starting points of Omaha, Kansas City, and Sioux City, with travel westward to the Pacific coast and points en route. E.L. Lomax provided detailed descriptions of the area and its history. The condition of the book is good, with wear and browning of the pages consistent with age. The measurements of this book are 5 1/4" x 7 3/4".
