For your consideration is this circa 1995 Specialized 2 x 7 gears (14 speed) road bike featuring Metal Matrix 2 Composite frame technology. In the 1990's, before aluminum alloys had been perfected for bike frames, Specialized introduced the Metal Matrix Composite M2 line of frames. The alloy tubing was reinforced with aluminum oxide ceramic particulate. The ceramic reinforced metal matrix composite frames were not in production very long, due to the high manufacturing costs and limited design flexibility. This handmade in the United States Specialized road bike has a 62 cm frame, Mavic 195, 32 hole rims, 700 x 25c tires, and Shimano RSX gear and shift components. This bike comes with a saddle bag and an extra tube. The bike was not ride tested due to flat tires. A stationary test showed the front derailleur working well, while the rear cassette was not shifting. With a tune-up, this lightweight, high-end road bike will be ready to hit the road again.
