Featured in this lot is this large, unmarked split willow & leather fishing creel from the early 20th century. This creel resembles the style and looks of two major creel makers, W.H. McMonies and George Lawrence Company, but is unmarked. The creel shows a split willow and leather construction with a tight weave throughout. It shows strips of leather throughout acting as decoration and reinforcement to the creel, while the edges are reinforced with more leather. The front strap to secure the lid has since been broken off from its age and use. A broken shoulder strap is housed inside the creel which was once attached to the back for easy carrying. The creel shows fair to good condition overall with wear and slight damage present from its age and use over the years. No major signs of damage noted. It measures 7 1/2" L x 17 1/2" W x 12" H and weighs 2 pounds and 9 ounces.
