For your consideration are two unmarked, split willow & leather fishing creels from the early to mid 20th century. These creels resemble the style and looks of two major creel makers, W.H. McMonies and George Lawrence Company, but are unmarked. The first and lighter colored creel shows a split willow construction with a tight weave and leather top and bottom. The back shows a leather loop handle held in place with brass tacks. A shoulder strap is housed in the creel and can be connected to the creel through two small slots on the back of the creel. The lid is secured by a leather and metal buckle on the front of the creel. The second and darker colored creel shows the same split willow and leather construction. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage noted. They measure from 8" L x 17 " W x 10" H to 6 3/4" L x 16" W x 10 3/8" H. they have a collective weight of 5 pounds and 6 ounces.
