Available for your bidding pleasure we have a Standard Oil Company large metal advertising sign. Standard Oil Co. was an American oil producing, transporting, refining, and marketing company. The company was established in 1870 in Ohio and was the largest oil company of it's time. By year 1878, Standard Oil Company controlled ninety percent of the oil refineries in the United States. In year 1911, after a Supreme Court ruling, Standard Oil Co. was diversified and dissolved into several smaller companies. This sign shows a red white and blue logo to show the company's patriotism. Written on the sign we see "Standard" and the image of a torch. The torch is however, missing it's flame. This sign shows very good condition on the front. The back of the sign shows wear according to age and chipped paint. This piece of history measures 42" X 56".
