Offered in this lot is a One Gallon Stoneware Jug for the Minneapolis Drug Company, circa 1920. Made by the Red Wing Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota. Features the Red Wing Platform Jug Form with the Rounded Base on the Top and a Stenciled Ink Stamped Label with the Merchant Advertising. Stands 11" tall. Red Wing pottery refers to American stoneware, pottery, or dinnerware items made by a company initially set up in Red Wing, Minnesota, in 1861 by German immigrant John Paul, which changed its names several times until finally settling on Red Wing Potteries, Inc. in 1936. The pottery factory that started in 1861 continues to the present day under the names of Red Wing Pottery and Red Wing Stoneware. Also included is the distinctive cabin-shaped EG Booz Whiskey bottle, certainly one of the most famous of American bottles. "E.G. Booz's Old Cabin Whiskey" was made for one Edmund G. Booz by the Whitney Glass Works of Glassboro, New Jersey around 1860. Deep amber machine-made glass log cabin bottle with broad sloping collar, inscription "E.G. BOOZ'S OLD CABIN WHISKEY", and, "1840" on opposite sides of gabled roof with beveled points, "E. G. BOOZ'S OLD CABIN WHISKEY", and, "120 WALNUT ST PHILADELPHIA" on opposite sides of house. Both containers are in good overall conditions, both reflect early Americana styling. Stoneware jug measures 11"H x 7" diameter base. Old Cabin bottle is 8.5"H x 2.75"W x 4"L
