Featured in this lot is this double weave basket collection from Tarahumara Indians. There are four baskets in this collection. The first is a lidded basket constructed from bear grass and sotol. The second, the smaller of the two, is similarly constructed from sotol and straw and has a crowned pattern. The third is the larger of the two; it has the same construction of sotol and is double woven with a crown. The last of the baskets shows a coil construction and rust orange design. The condition of these baskets is good, showing no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of these four baskets are 5 1/4" x 10" x 10" for the lidded basket, 6 3/4" x 8" x 8" for the smaller double weave basket, and 7 1/2" x 13" x 13" for the larger double weave basket, with the final basket measuring 10-3/4" wide by 1 3/4" tall.
