For your consideration in this lot is New Old Stock of the four Fifth Edition of The American Wildlife Series of knives by Camillus. Arguably one of the most important and historically significant industries in the Village of Camillus, New York was the Camillus Cutlery Factory. Camillus Cutlery manufactured knives locally for more than 100 years. This fifth edition collection of four knives consists of a 440A high-carbon stainless steel blade (rockwell hardness of 57-58). The knife has a Derlin handle, brass bolster and a recessed thumb-lock that secures the blade in an open position. The knife measures 4 3/4" when closed Inset into each handle is sculptured 14kt gold plated wildlife image by renown engraver Sid Bell. The fifth edition has Deer Head (white tail), Running Buck Deer (white tail), Charging Bear (black bear), and Howling Coyote. These knives are all New Old Stock and in the original box and sleeves.
