This is an original Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana knife with an excellent, Yellowstone National Park inspired, Grizzly Bear scrimshaw artwork. This knife is truly a work of “Montana” art, as it shows the iconic Grizzly scrimshaw set on wild bone grips and a forged, “rustic” Damascus, a tribute to the wilderness of our state and scrimshaw artwork of Native American Indian heritage. The blade has been forged from 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon, which is then heated and folded into 396 layers, creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows a wonderful ladder Damascus. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of nice white wild animal bone grip scales, which are secured to the piece using two mosaic pins and a lanyard loop. The tang of the knife has been artfully hand vine filled. The grips have also been artfully scrimshaw etched with an image of a Grizzly bear. The knife is in brand new condition. The blade is stamped with the outline of the state of Montana "MT" with "Bozeman MT" underneath. The knife has been paired with a genuine leather, hand crafted, tooled sheath and is stamped "MT Bozeman MT" with the outline of Montana. The knife measures 9" long with the blade being 4 1/2" long.
