This is a Don Polland limited edition pewter sculpture titled "The Chief". It is a beautifully created figurine depicting a Native American chief rearing back on a horse while on a rocky outcrop; the chief’s left hand holds a shield, and his right hand extends a clasped rifle. His war bonnet shows multi-layered feathers. The chief is sitting on a hide blanket reminiscent of American bison, colloquially known as buffalo. The solid wood base has very slight scratches, most likely from normal handling. The pewter is in very fine condition. The piece measures 5.75" L x 5.5" W x 7.75" H.
