"A long association with the Cheyennes has given me a special interest in them, and a special wish that they should be allowed to speak for themselves. What the Indians saw in the battles here described, I have learned during years of intimate acquaintance with those who took part in them."-George Bird Grinnell. Grinnell is considered one of the great historians of the American Indian. Accounts of such Cheyenne Chiefs and warriors as Roman Nose, Black Kettle, Dull Knife, and many others are contained herein. The book is illustrated with maps of different battles and such. It is in fair condition, with a loose binding, but no missing pages. Measures 6.25" x 9" x 1.75".
