Featured in this lot are fifteen Franklin Library leather bound & gilt fiction books, presented by The Franklin Library circa 1976-83. The books in this collection are fictional, with a few historical fiction and theological fiction books included. The books show beautiful colors of leather binding and various designs of gold gilt on the spines and front covers. The edges of the paper are also gilted in gold color. The books in this collection are as follows - "The Yearling" by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, "The Flowers of Evil" by Charles Baudelaire, "The Store" by T.S. Stribling, "Four Plays" by Eugene O'Neill, "Honey In The Horn" Harold L. Davis, "Nabokov's Dozen" by Vladimir Nabokov, "Look Homeward, Angel" by Thomas Wolfe, "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" by Thorton Wilder, "Humboldt's Gift" by Saul Bellow, "The Aeneid of Virgil" translation done by John Dryden, "The Sound and The Fury" by William Faulkner, "Advise and Consent" by Allen Drury, "Now in November" by Josephine Johnson, "The Keepers of the House" by Shirley Ann Grau and "Scarlet Sister Mary" by Julia Peterkin. The books show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage. They measure from 8 9/16" L x 5 3/4" W x 1" D to 9 5/16" L x 6 3/8" W x 1 15/16" D. They have a collective weight of 29 pounds and 10 ounces.
