Presented in this lot is the First Edition "The Guns of Remington: Historic Firearms Spanning Two Centuries", by Howard Madaus, 1997, Biplane Productions publishers, over 800 colour photographs. From 1992 to 1999 Madaus was curator of the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody. This is a beautiful volume with complete and authentic research, covering nearly 2 centuries of Remington, America's oldest firearms manufacturer. The serious collector will appreciate the fine photography by Paul Goodwin showing minute details of all models of revolvers, rifles, and shotguns, including presentation pieces. Students of military history and western Americana will find this to be a priceless source book. Well done, having been co-sponsored by the Cody Firearms Museum and the Remington Society of America. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is widely regarded as this country's finest western museum, and features four internationally acclaimed museums: the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, the Plains Indian Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum, as well as the McCracken Research Library & Archives. This grey cloth bound gold gilt hardcover is in very nice overall condition, original illustrated paper dust jacket is in good overall condition, normal wear noted. Intact pages are very clean and bright, no obvious marring observed. Measures 9.25"W x 12.25"L x 1.25"D
