Included in this lot is the rare First Edition of, "The Indian The Northwest", 1901, published by Chicago & North-Western Railway Co."The Indian The Northwest 1600-1900 The Red Man The War Man The White Man and The NorthWestern Line Chicago & North-Western Railway" author unknown, is a small book that chronicles the history of the peoples of the United States from three separate perspectives in the northwestward expansion of North America: the major Native American cultures that existed at the beginnings of Western European explorations and settlements; the inevitable conflicts that arose once Western European explorers and expansion chose allegiances within inter-tribal conflicts; the main vehicle that enabled the rapid expansion of the Northwest, the Chicago & North-Western Railway Co. Illustrated with numerous excellent photos and drawings, several full-color full-page maps and one double-page color map depicting the evolution of the concept of the "Northwest" in American history including a full color folded 8"W x 18"L route map of the Chicago & North-Western railroad in 1900. The brown cloth bound cover has full color illustrations, covers are loose from binding. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and slight foxing throughout. Measures 5.25W x 8"L x .25D. Overall fair to good condition.
