Offered in this lot is a First Edition of "The Threat of Sitting Bull" by D. Lange, 1920, Lothrop, Lee & Shepard Co., Boston publishers, illustrated by Charles E. Meister. A thrilling and historically accurate account of the epic clash between General George Custer and the legendary Sioux warrior Sitting Bull. Written for young people, this book offers a vivid and engaging introduction to a pivotal event in American history. Dietrich lange (1863-1940) was a teacher and author, writing and lecturing about nature conservation and the wilderness. He was a great advocate for the boy scouts movement, including boy scouts in his fiction. Not only did Lange write fiction books, but he also wrote nonfiction. This tan cloth bound illustrated hardcover is in nice condition, scuffing exhibited to edges. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and slight tears. Measures 5"W x 7.5"L x 1.25"D
