For your consideration is a Rare First Edition of "The Valley of Wyoming the Romance of Its History and Its Poetry" 1866 by Native Valley, publisher Robert H. Johnston. A poetic tribute to the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Wyoming Valley region of northeastern Pennsylvania. The author, a native of the region, draws on personal experience and a deep love of the land to weave together a tapestry of history, geography, and human experience that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt a deep connection to a particular place. This book is a must-read for lovers of nature and regional literature. "Author's name" is pencilled on title page, probably relative of abolitionist, author, and US Congressman Charles Miner of Wyoming Valley. The green cloth bound gold gilt stamped illustrated hardcover is in nice condition, slight scuffing and staining observed on covers and edges. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and foxing throughout. Measures 5.25"W x 8"L x .5"D.
