For your consideration is a fourth edition copy of "The Wild North Land" by Major W.F. Butler, C.B., F.R.G.S. (1838-1910), and published by Porter & Coates, Philadelphia, 1874. The full title includes, "Being Being the Story of a Winter Journey, with Dogs, across Northern North America." Born at Ballyslateen, Suirville, Ireland on October 31, 1838 Sir Wlliam Francis Butler was one of the great soldier-adventurers of the nineteenth century. This book shows a green cover with gold gilt lettering and a black stamped design. There are illustrations throughout including a portrait of the author as the front piece. It is in good condition considering it's age showing some sign of wear on the edges of the cover, and binding. The book measures 7.5x5.25".
